Join the Oregon Civil War Sesquicentennial as their volunteers conduct guided tours of the Civil War-related heritage art in downtown Portland. The next one will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The tour is free of charge and open to the public.Subsequent tours will take place on the following Sundays, April 13 and April 20,2014.

Oregon is home to many heritage pieces connected to the Civil War, reflecting the post-war diaspora that brought almost 20,000 Civil War veterans ...

February 2014  marks the 205th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday which was celebrated in Oregon this year on February 12 with a wreath-laying ceremony and readings about our 16th President at Lincoln Square in downtown Portland in the shadow of the Lincoln statue donated in 1928 to the city by Dr. Henry Waldo Coe.

Today's Civil War Cemetery tour at Portland's Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery will launch a week of programs and special events honoring the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address taking place throughout the state of Oregon.
