OREGON COMMEMORATES THE 149TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ASSASSINATION OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN WITH THE DEBUT OF AN INCISIVE NEW EXHIBIT AT THE OREGON HISTORICAL MUSEUM IN PORTLAND, OREGON ON APRIL 12, 2014!
Don't miss the Oregon Historical Society's blockbuster exhibit on Abraham Lincoln entitled "Two Years, One Month: Lincoln's Legacy" opening April 12.
This long awaited exhibit takes an in-depth look at Lincoln’s monumental presidency between two historic points: the enactment of the Emancipation Proclamation and the Congressional passage of the Thirteenth Amendment. Special thanks are extended to the Mark Family Collection and the Shapell Manuscript Foundation for loaning items to this exhibition, and to a person who supported our organization's mission when we were Lincoln Bicentennial Commissioners for Oregon: Lincolniana collector Melvin "Pete " Mark.
